Safe Reflections Announces Availability for High-Visibility FR Finished Edge Trim

Monday, June 2, 2014

The latest addition to the company’s occupational trim product line utilizes 3M Scotchlite Reflective Material technology.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (June 3, 2014) – Safe Reflections, a globally recognized leader in enhanced visibility and reflective solutions for the occupational safety, consumer active wear apparel and military training markets, has announced its high-visibility, flame retardant (FR) finished edge trim is now widely available.

The latest FR product from Safe Reflections is available in two forms – a two-inch wide high-visibility flame-retardant trim that is ready to be sewn to FR apparel, featuring sewn-on 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material – 8940 Silver Industrial Wash Flame Resistant Fabric, and a laminated version, featuring 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material – 9740 Industrial Wash Flame Resistant Transfer Film.

“Our 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material business continues to deliver sustained growth, which is fueled in large part by our ability to inject 3M innovation into our product portfolio,” said Kevin McGuigan, global business manager, 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material. “Our organization takes great pride in our products’ ability to increase workers’ visibility, which translates into improved safety for occupational workers globally. We’re pleased to be specified on Safe Reflections’ FR finished edge product line, which takes 3M technology to a new level of comfort and value.”

Safe Reflections’ finished edge FR trims are widely used by oil and gas workers, electricians and chemical workers. The new finished edge trim is Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) certified to NFPA 2112 and is able to withstand aggressive industrial washings. It weighs less than traditional FR trims and has a lower profile, resulting in more comfortable and better-looking work wear.

“Safe Reflections’ finished edge trim product line offers significant cost and time savings because it’s easier to sew during garment manufacturing or in aftermarket applications,” said Mike Parson, vice president of global sales for Safe Reflections. “Like our other flame-retardant trims, these finished edge versions are designed to increase day and night visibility while resisting ignition and being self-extinguishing almost immediately upon removal of an ignition source, thus preventing the spread of flames.”

The Safe Reflections FR finished edge trim comes in two colors – fluorescent lime/yellow and fluorescent red/orange – and is made in the U.S.A. This product complements Safe Reflections full line of high-visibility occupational reflective trims and is currently available for order.
