COO has overseen growth and innovation for reflective technology manufacturer

ST. PAUL, Minn. (July 2, 2015) – Safe Reflections, the globally recognized leader in enhanced visibility and reflective solutions for the occupational safety, consumer active wear apparel and military training markets, has named Chuck Gruber as the company’s new President and Chief Executive Officer. Gruber, who has served as President and COO since 2012 when he joined the company, has been promoted, following the passing of founding CEO Robert Koppes.

“I am very happy to have Chuck take over the CEO role for Safe Reflections,” said Joey Koppes, owner of Safe Reflections and son of former CEO Robert Koppes. “His passion for our company mission, his depth of business acumen and his strong visionary leadership skills will ensure we stay on our accelerated growth track.”

Most recently, Gruber founded ReflectYourGear™, a wholly owned subsidiary of Safe Reflections dedicated to reducing automobile-based injuries to children, runners, walkers and cyclists by increasing their visibility during low-light hours. “ReflectYourGear is a direct-to-consumer business with the goal of providing reflective education and bringing reflective material to the masses to apply to owned equipment and apparel,” said Gruber.

“I am grateful and honored to take over this expanded leadership role with Safe Reflections,” Gruber said. “Bob’s vision and direction built this company for the purpose of using science to save lives, and I am looking forward to continuing to fulfill that promise. Safe Reflections is a great company with a committed leadership team that’s currently well positioned in the growing reflective market. Safe Reflections has an arsenal of strong product offerings with more in the pipeline.”

The company, which recently expanded its St. Paul headquarters, is the only reflective textile manufacturer with converters on two continents, with the goal of doubling production capacity by 2017. The expanded St. Paul facility is anchored by an indoor night demonstration facility that highlights the performance of Safe Reflections’ exclusive glass bead reflective technology. “We provide reflective education and training to designers and developers of major apparel brands, who are amazed and delighted by the performance of our patented reflective products. These expanded facilities allow us to execute on our strategy to continue to deliver double-digit growth,” Gruber explained.

A New Jersey native, Gruber received his chemical engineering degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology and his MBA in marketing from Temple University Fox School of Business and Management. He has more than 30 years of experience and has served in production, product innovation, supply-chain logistics and business leadership roles for Rohm and Hass Company, GAF Materials Corporation, Elemica and Cannon Equipment.
